Can this be installed horizontally? No, it cannot be installed horizontally. It's set up so that the burners heat the coils above. Does this need a cover for when it rains? Designed for portable outdoor use. It is splash-proof and can manage a little drizzle, however, prolonged exposure to rain/water will damage the internal components.
